Girls’ suicide sparks protest in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Scores of youngsters joined protest late in the night after a girl ended her life at Ashoknagar in Hyderabad.

Pravallika, 25-years-old was staying in a girl Hostel and preparing for the exams. The woman, however, found dead in the hostel room.

Youngsters shouting and demanding acion took part in the protest. The Congress Party took strong exception against the aspirant death and called for statewide protest.

The woman Marri Pravalika was from Warangal and was staying in a Hostel for the exam preparation. As the news of suicide spread the youngsters (aspirants for government jobs) joined the protest in large numbers on the street outside the Hostel at Ashoknagar in Hyderabad. 

Revanth Reddy, president Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) sought State Government to own up responsibility and clarify.

Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai called for a detail report within 48 hours of girl suicide from Warangal Pravallika. She directed the Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and the Secretary of TSPSC to detailed report within 48 hours.
