Student Islamic Organisation (SIO),Telangana demanded Government of Telangana to immediately release the scholarships for the UG and PG students.
A delegation headed by Abdul Rahman, P.R Secretary, SIO Telangana along with Hidayatullah, Asst. P.R Secretary, SIO Hyderabad met Harish Rao, Finance Minister, Telangana and brought to his notice about the problems being faced by the students due to the non-payment of fee in many colleges.
“SIO Telangana receive number of complaints and queries from the student community to make an appeal for their scholarship, which is pending since many years which is causing much inconvenience to the students,” stated, SIO in the representation.
They requested Harish Rao to ask the institutions to let release the certificates of the students, which have been withheld by various colleges of the state due to the non-payment of fee as they haven’t received their scholarship amount due to this the students are unable to pursue their higher education.
“We also requested Minister to release the budget allocated for the scholarships without any further delay for the atleast final year students . We have also appealed to regulate and streamline the scholarship process so that it will continue, as many students are taking loans hoping to recieve their scholarship,” said, the delegation members.
However, Finance Minister Harish Rao assured the delegation to resolve the issue.
