A review meeting headed by Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister K.T. Rama Rao was held on the distribution of double-bedroom houses in Hyderabad limits, at Pragathi Bhavan on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Ch Malla Reddy, and Deputy Speaker T Padma Rao Goud and officials from Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to discuss regarding the construction of the houses for needy and deserving people in the State.
The ministers, however, have been informed by the officials that almost construction of the 70 thousands homes had been completed and they are ready to dole out among the beneficiaries. The officials further notified that the process of handing over the houses to the eligible beneficiaries was being processed at a brisk pace and the verification process of applicants who have already submitted was about complete very shortly.
The MA&UD Minister said that as against the target to construct one lakh 2BHK houses in the GHMC limits, 75,000 double-bedroom houses were constructed. Of these, nearly 4,500 houses were already handed over to in-situ beneficiaries.
“Nearly 70,000 houses which are ready to be handed over to the beneficiaries will be distributed in five to six phases,’’ said, KTR in review meeting held with ministers and officials concerned and also said that distribution of the houses under the first phase will begin within a week and he asked the GHMC officials to make preparations to this end.
