In a shocking incident, a 28-year-old woman was attacked, stripped naked and molested in full public view at Balaji Nagar, in the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sunday night.
The victim who was returning home after buying grocery from a shop at Balaji Ngar and in the meantime Peddamaraiah, 30, who was in a drunken state stopped the woman and touched her inappropriately that led woman to push him back.
in a fit of rage, the accused tore the victim clothes on the road, stripped her naked and assaulted by using objectionable words. The victim helplessly tried to defend herself but failed, when some passersby intervened in the matter they were too attacked by the Peddamaraiah. Shockingly, the victim was left naked on the road for 15 minutes.
The accused mother was also present at the time of the incident but she did not intervene to stop her son.
Police, however, registered cases under sections 354 (b), causing hurt under Section 323, and criminal intimidation.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) took strong exception over the incident and sought a report from Telangana DGP within 7 days. It deplored the incident and empathized the need for a prompt investigation and medical support for the survivor.
