A senior journalist, prominent social activist and a managing editor of ‘Siasat-Daily’ died on Sunday following a heart attack in Hyderabad.
Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, 62, had suddenly collapsed with a complain of uneasiness during the funeral procession of revolutionary Balladeer Gaddar. Immediately after, he was shifted to a private hospital in Alwal where he breathed his last. He was survived by two sons and a wife.
As the news of his demise spread, it not only surprised but also shocked everyone and condolences poured from political leaders, social activists, and journalists associated with different parties and organizations.
Zaheeruddin Ali Khan, was one of the key personalities to lead youths in education, employment sectors, as well as he played a key role in creating awareness among Muslims during the Telangana Movement.
The funeral prayer of Zaheeruddin Ali Khan will be offered after Fajr at Shahi Masjid, Public Garden. Later, he will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard, Akhirat Manzil in Nampally.
A vast majority of the Muslim Minorities leaders, social activists and journalists deeply hurt with his demise and his services in social, welfare activities were remembered.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao condoled the demise of Siasat-Urdu Daily, Managing Editor Zaheeruddin Ali Khan. CM KCR said the passing away of Zaheeruddin Ali Khan is an irreparable loss to Urdu journalism.
The Chief Minister recollected his association with Zaheeruddin Ali Khan and the latter’s role during the Telangana movement as a News Editor. CM KCR conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.
