The Union Minister For Culture, Tourism And Development Of North Eastern Region (DoNER) G.Kishan Reddy inaugurated Facade Illumination of Centrally Protected Monument, Charminar at an event held on Saturday in Hyderabad.

Addressing the gathering Union Minister  G.Kishan Reddy said that India would emerge as the number one tourist destination in the coming years. “India has all the qualities of an international tourist attraction. Its heritage structures,world class nature wonders will make it happen in the near future,”said, Central Minister.

The Union Minister lauded the efforts
of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and National Culture Fund (NCF) for collaborating with the Indian Oil Foundation (IOF) and completing the project.

Union Minister also mentioned that, similar permanent illumination will be set up in Golkonda Fort Warangal fort and Thousand pillars temple .

He also said that Central government has taken special interest in building museums and upgrading existing museums in Telangana.

“Tribal Museum is on the cards and Salarjung museum will get new blocks to it,” he added.

He further said that It is a great pride for the people of both the Telugu states to get UNESCO world heritage site tag for Ramappa temple. Now Charminar and Golkonda both are included in the UNESCO tentative list of heritage sites.

It may be mentioned here that historical Charminar which used to be lit up only on special occasions will now be lit up throughout the year.

“The façade illumination inaugurated at Charminar is a momentous and prestigious event promoting the pride of Telangana State when shared worldwide on various cultural and tourism platforms,” said, central minister.
