Andhra Pradesh: Clash broke out between YSRCP & TDP workers, several injured including cops | Watch Video

At least ten policemen and more than a dozen YSRCP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers have been wounded during TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s visit to Angallu and Ponganur in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district on Friday evening.

Scores of worker from the YSRCP had gathered on the highway at Ponganur to protest against TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu’s alleged remarks against Thamballepalle MLA P Dwarakanath Reddy.

However, the TDP’s convoy was not being allowed in the town that led Telugu Desam party workers to register a counter protest. Soon after, activists from either sides started pelting stone at each other,due to this many cops were injured and angry protesters set two police vehicles on fire.

The police, however, had to use power to disburse the mob by firing tear gas shells and bring the situation under control and during the clash many have received serious head injuries.
