Manipur violence: Christians take out candle march at Hafeezpet, seek justice

Expressing solidarity with Manipur victims – a large number of people participated in a candle march on Sunday night organized by United Christians, Hafeezpet to seek justice for manipur violence victims.

Angry protestors holding placards and banners raised slogans ‘Save India, Save Manipur, Save Christians,and demanded Central Government to stop the violence and initiate strict action against the trouble makers.

“Muslims, Christians, and Dalits are being targetted by RSS & BJP. The double engine Sarkar will no longer exist and it will be thrown out from power, as the people of India came to know the fact,” said one of the protestors.

They sought clarification from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why the government has failed to stop the violence in Manipur.

“We are here to protest against the Manipur violence. It has claimed several innocent lives and women are not safe in the region. We want the Governments to intervene in this matter and save lives,” another protestor.

It may be mentioned here that India outraged after women paraded naked in Manipur – in a viral video showed that dozens of men parading assaulting two women who have been stripped naked, has triggered outrage in the country.

The incident happened on May 4, a day after deadly ethnic riots broke out between the Hindu meitei and Christian kuki-zo tribes in manipur governed by BJP.
