In the wake of heavy rainfall prediction for Hyderabad in next 48 hours, the field workers of GHMC have been asked to remain vigilant to make sure immediate help in case of emergency.
Gadwal Vijayalaxmi, Mayor, GHMC asked authorities to give first priority to the low laying areas in case of heavy rains.
“Almost 428 emergency response teams have been formed to carry out relief works. The citizens should avoid stepping out homes during rains, unless it an emergency,’’ said, GHMC mayor in her message to the people of Hyderabad.
In the light of rains across Telangana and heavy to heavy rainfall forecast drove State Government to extend two-day holiday for all the educational institutions.
Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao instructed Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy to announce holidays to all the schools, colleges across the State to avoid inconvenience for the students during rain.
The announcement came again as the prevailing weather condition and forecast of extreme to heavy rainfall in the next three days across Telangana. The IMD sounded a red alert in the state.
