Schools shut due to heavy rains across Telangana

Hyderabad: Government of Telangana here on Thursday declared two days holidays for all the educational institutions from July 20-21. The announced was made by Sabita Indra Reddy, Education Minister in view of rains across the State.

“Keeping in view of the heavy rainfall in the state and under the instructions of the CM, KCR, the Govt has decided to declare holidays for two days to all educational institutions in the state. That is Thursday and Friday,’’ Sabita Indra Reddy, Education Minister tweeted. 

The decision was welcomed by Telangana Parents Association for Child Rights and Safety and expressed its gratitude.

“Thank you for accepting our request to declare holidays for schools in view of heavy rains in Telangana. It would have been better if this decision was taken much earlier. The delay has caused much inconvenience to parents and kids this morning,’’ said, Asif Hussain Sohail, Chairman, Telangana Parents Association for Child Rights and Safety.

The state is currently under orange and yellow alert that is leading to heavy rainfalls. Hyderabad also has seen light to moderate amount of rains for the last few days due to this normal life came to a halt. Due to continues rains trees fall were reported from different places in GHMC limits during last 24 hours.

According to Weather Reports, light to moderate and heavy rains is expected in next 24 hours and citizens have been asked to stay indoors. As per the instructions from Government and due to incessant rains all the examinations have been postponed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Rescheduled dates of examinations would be announced later.
