Telangana: Light to moderate rain will continue for next 48 hours, citizens asked to stay indoors

Hyderabad: In view of light to moderate rain in several parts of Telangana the citizens have been asked to stay indoors and do not venture out unnecessary. According to the Weather reports, the rain would continue for the next 48 hours.

Water logging, overflowing drains and damaged roads, cause much inconvenience to the people at many places in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Secunderabad, and Rachakonda limits. Office goers and students have to face lot of difficulties to reach to their respective destinations.

Vijayalaxmi Gadwal, GHMC, Mayor has asked officials concerned to be alert and ensure immediate addressing the problems being faced by the citizens. The GHMC workers and EVDM personnel have also been deployed at many places to drain out water and attend the complaints.

GHMC Mayor also asked authorities to keep a vigil in the localities where dilapidated condition buildings and structures are exit. “Light to moderate rains are expected to continue. Citizens are advised to stay indoors. Dial the control room on 040-21111111 for any rain related issues & assistance. Instructed all the officials from Zonal Commissioners to filed level officers to be on high alert & facilitate the public. Monsoon emergency teams and EVDM teams are on the field monitoring the complaints they are receiving,’’ tweeted, Vijayalasmi Gadwal, Mayor, GHMC.

According to weather reports, light to moderate rain or thunder showers are expected in the Telangana State today as well.  It has also predicted heavy to heavy rain is likely to occur in certain districts including Khammam, Nizamabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, and others on today (Wednesday).

As a precautionary measure, some educational institutions have declared holidays for the schools and the parents also are not in a mood to send their children to the schools due to the ongoing weather. “We don’t want the children to attend the classes in rains and we have advised them to stay indoors,’’ said one of the school concerned.
