A 45-year-old man was burnt seriously while bringing down a tree by setting it to fire at Tigal Kuntta on Tuesday under Falaknuma Police Station Limits.
According to the details, Mohammed Aqhtar, 45, resident of Tigal Kuntta was called by his neighbour to cut a tree standing in the court yard of a house in the same locality.
Though, the man was not in a mood to axe the tree, but he was reportedly insisted and taken by his neighbour to cut the tree.
He was given some papers to burn down the tree rather than axing, the fire spread faster in the court yard when it was set to fire.
However, Aqhtar tried to save himself, but he could not escape from the fire. As a result, he suffered severe burn injuries and battling for life.
“When he was at home along with family members and then only one of the neighbours called him to axe down a tree located in their residence. In fact, he did not want to go and had denied to cut down the tree. On his insistence, he left home. Later, we came it know that he was burnt completely due to a burning tree that had engulfed in the entire house,” said, family members of the victim.
The locals rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
Later, the victim has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital where his condition is said to be critical.
The police, however, registered a case and investigation is underway.
