A 10-years-old Sloth Bear has been rescued and released in the wild area of Amarabad Tiger Reserve, Achampet by the District Forest Officer, Suryapeta on Sunday May 14.
The ‘Bear’ who had gained accessed in house at Suryapeta, was captured by the Forest Officials. Later, it was shifted to Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad for medical examinations.
“On 14.05.2023 (Sunday) at 11.00 PM a male Sloth Bear, aged about 10-years old was rescued by the District Forest Officer, Suryapeta while it was hiding in a house at Suryapeta. After capturing, the Bear was shifted to Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad for further health checkup,’’ stated in press released, adding that, “After the keen observation, the Zoo veterinary Doctors gave the fitness certificate for the release into the wild. As per the instructions of the Chief Wildlife Warden, Telangana State the rescued Sloth Bear was released in the wild area of Amarabad Tiger Reserve, Achampet, Nagar Kurnool District Telanagana State on 15.05.2023 (Monday),’’
