Mohammed Abdul Gaffar resident of H No: 4-105/2, Digwal, Kohir in Medak District from Telangana holder of Indian Passport No: P0674146 working as a Manager in KBF Group of Company, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since last three years and staying with his family had ordered some medicines of weight loss from one of the US based Online site and while taking the parcel from the delivery boy was arrested by Saudi Arabian police on 18th April 2023 for ordering the said medicine.
The reason for the arrest is not yet known or disclosed by police to his family and whether those particular medicines are banned in Saudi Arabia are also not known yet.His family contacted Amjed Ullah Khan for help in rescuing him.
Mr Khan took up this issue with Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar Minister for External Affairs Govt of India, Indian Embassy in Riyadh, KSA and Sri K T Rama Rao Minister for MA&UD and NRI Department, Govt of Telangana and requested them to provide him legal help and also speak to his family.

Attaché (Jail & Tarheel & HM) (Community Welfare Wing), Embassy of India, Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) responded to Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman) MBT on mail and stated that Mohammed Abdul Gaffar has been detained by Drugs Enforcement Dept for receiving a parcel containing intoxicating substances and after 10-12 days was shifted to Riyadh Jail and his case is under trial/investigation which was confirmed during Embassy’s Officials visit to Riyadh Jail on 10.05.2023.
Mr Rajiv Sikri assured that Embassy would again visit Riaydh Jail in the upcoming week to gather more information and also stated that Embassy has got in touch with Mr Gaffars family there and assured that all type of legal help will be provided to bring him out as soon as possible.
