Telangana: Heavy rain disrupt normal life in many places; more rain is likely in coming days

Telangana: Many parts of the Telangana received heavy rainfall in last couple of days especially the capital of Telangana and it’s adjoining areas where normal life has been disrupted due to severe water logging, power outage and tree uprooted.

According to Indian Meteorological Department thundershowers are likely to continue in the State for next few days in several districts including the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. The 5cm intense rainfall in GHMC within 24 hour  span has left several areas battered and inundated.

On the second consecutive day with scores of submerged cars, two wheelers on the streets, trees uprooted and electrical wires snapped down causing power outage for hours in many localities. The DRF personnel had been deployed to clear the fallen trees and water logging from different places in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

According to the authorities blackouts were triggered after trees collapsed in live wires which were cleared and restored power supply. The deluge also disrupted power supply in the areas of Nallakunta, Yakutpura, Chandrayangutta, Begumpet, Kukatpally, Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills.

Apart from this, commuters stuck at many places due to water logging and it took them hours to reached to their respective destinations. The citizens, however, are asked to be careful while driving, riding and Leaving homes during heavy rain.
