Congress Leader hands over his official residence

The Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday handed over his officials’ bungalow located at Tughlak Lane. After vacating his house; where he stayed over 18 years said that he is ready to pay any price for speaking the truth.

“I am ready to pay any price for speaking the truth,’’ Rahul Gandhi said, after handing over the key of his official bungalow. The Lok Sabha Housing Committee, headed by BJP MP CR Patel, had sent Rahul Gandhi a letter asking him to vacate his official residence by April 22. The Congress leaders have accused the Centre of political vendetta.

A disqualified MP is not entitled to a government accommodation and gets a one-month period to vacate his official bungalow.

The  Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate in tweet message said that, “ Rahulji has vacated his officials residence today. His aim and destination is much beyond a house….’’

The Gujarat court had given 30 days to Rahul Gandhi to file an appeal in a defamation case, but he lost it as well.

 “Today@RahulGandhii vacates his home at Tughlaq lane in response to the Lok Sabha Secretariat’s order. The Court gave him 30 days to appeal & the HC or SC could still reinstate him, but his exemplary gesture to move out shows his respect for the rules,” Congress leader and Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor said in a tweet.
