Hyderabad: Muslims observe Shab-E-Qadr in the old city

Muslims across the city observed Shab-E-Qadr, also known as Lailatul-Qadr,  the night of power, on Wednesday night. Shab-e-Qadr is observed on the 27th of the Ramadan month and this night is regarded auspicious as ‘Holy-Quran’ was revealed to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him).

A large number of people from Muslim Community visited the mosques and attended Isha prayers (congregational prayers). Special sermons on Shab-E-Qadr were organized at several mosques around the city of Hyderabad.

Taraweeh prayers (voluntary prayers) were also performed in the mosques and after Religious meetings were conducted  in various mosques. The pious were seen reciting Holy Quran and doing  supplications at the mosques in the night and praying for wellbeing of their relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Also, the mosques have been illuminated with colorful lights. Muslims visited graveyards to pay floral respect at their respective loved ones graves at many places.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the Hyderabad police for Shab-e-Qadr in the old city of Hyderabad.
