Retired OU Lecturer duped of Rs 18.75 lakh by his neighbor, seeks help |Hyderabad

A retired lecturer from Osmania University (OU) was reportedly cheated of Rs 18.75 lakh by his neighbor under Rajendarnagar Police Station Limits.

Mohammed Bin Khalid, 74- year-old resident of Attapur revealed that one of his neighbors Imtiyaz Ansari allegedly stole his ATM card and withdrawn Rs 18.75 lakh from his Bank Account. Later, he (accused) shifted to Vijaywada with his family members and made no response to the victims’ several calls.

Afterward, a complained was also lodged with Rajenderngar police seeking to arrest the accused and help him to recover his money. The victim, however, is reportedly being forced to make rounds of the police station and urged to hush up the matter by taking some amount.

“I have been a lecturer in Osmania University and I was duped by my one neighbor Imtiyaz Ansari. He stole my ATM card and withdrawn Rs 18.75 lakh from Bank account. I have lodge a complaint with Rajendarnagar Police but I am forced to make rounds of the police station and told to compromise by taking some amount. I am alone and helpless, nobody come forward to help me out in this matter,’’ said, Khalid Bin Mohammed, 74-year-old senior citizen and retired OU lecturer.

He also requested Home Minister Mahmood Ali and DGP Anjani Kumar to intervene in the matter and help him to recover his money.
