Communal Violence rocked Jharkhand’s Jamshedpur on Sunday evening, stone pelting, arson and vandalism reported from different places. According to the reports, the violence erupted after an alleged incident of meat tagging on a Ram Navami flag.
Jharkhand police had to use force, including tear gas to disperse the mob in Jamshedpur. Prohibitory orders under section144 CrPC have imposed in the riot hit areas of Jamshedpur. Following the violence, over 50 rioters claimed to have been arrested by the police.
Reports said that a mob set ablaze shops and pelted stones during the violence. A vehicle, an Auto-Rickshaw was also set ablaze by the miscreants during the clashes.
“Over 50 people from either community have been arrested in this matter. Abhay singh has also been arrested, whose supporters had come to the police and misbehaved with officials. Nobody will be spared and action will be taken against all involved in the incident,’ said, Vijay Shankar, Superintendent of Police, Jamshedpur City.
