A girl student of Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMRIES) Junior College, Narayankhed gave birth to a baby girl in Hostel premises and the Principal reportedly threw baby 15 KM away in a dustbin under Sirgapur Police Station Limits.
The matter was brought to light by Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman, MBT who visited the place and had details from the police.
“A very untoward incident happened in TMRIES residential hostel of Narayankhed, on March, 24, 2023, wherein a minor girl student of Intermediate 1st Year of TMRIES Junior College gave birth to a baby girl. The residents of Khajapur Village, found a baby thrown in a dustbin and informed to Sirgapur Police Sub-Inspector Narayana, who took the baby girl to a local hospital and after treatment the infant handed over to District Child Welfare & Protection Committee,’’ said, Amjed Ullah Khan, MBT, Spokesman.
Amjed Ullah Khan (Spokesman) MBT visited Narayankhed to know the facts of the incident. Where he met Mohammed Moinuddin Qureshi (President) Muslim Action Committee (MAC) and along with M A Taher visited TMRIES Hostel where he came to know that the incident is correct and due to pressure from local politicians the issue is being suppressed.
Mr Khan then went to Narayankhed Police Station and met Venkat Reddy (SI) and inquired about the incident who said that there has been no complaint in this regard, but confirmed that a new born baby girl was found by SI Sirgapur Police Station, who will be investigating the case.
Mr Khan then proceeded to Sirgapur Police Station and met Mr Narayana (Sub-Inspector) Sirgapur and inquired about the incident, who has confirmed the incident and said that he has already issued an FIR No : 17/2023 u/s 317 IPC and further investigation is going on.
“The major issue is that how come the new born was found in a dustbin in Khajapur when she was born in TMRIES Hostel in Narayankhed,’’ questioned, Amjedullah Khan?
Amjed Ullah Khan said that he had called Mohammed Mehmood Ali, Minister for Home, Government of Telangana and Mohammed Shafi Ullah, IFS Secretary TMRIES and informed them about the incident, Mr Khan also spoke to Mr Venkat Reddy (DSP) Narayankhed and asked him to speed up the inquiry and arrest all those involved.
Speaking to media Mr Khan demanded CID Inquiry into this incident and said that such thing happening in hostels will break the trust of other parents. Mr Khan questioned that how can this girl pregnancy be detected when the Government claims that TMRIES residential school, college students staying in hostels are subjected to monthly medical checkup.
Mr Khan also demanded that all TMREIS residential hostel should be fixed with CCTV cameras and lady Constables be posted on girl’s hostel immediately to reaffirm the lost trust.
