Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Pride India Crystal Town in Bandlaguda on Saturday, when scores of property owners tried to stop the demolition of their buildings by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).
The officials landed at the spot along with a large contingent of police to pull down the buildings citing illegal layout and unauthorized structures. As the news spread the property owners rushed to the spot and registered their protest against the demolition.
“It is an illegal layout and unauthorized structures. We have served them notices as well as intimated to the property owners about the action (demolition),’’ one of the officials told media, while carrying out the demolition at Pride India Crystal Town in Bandlaguda.
According to the details, the tussle was going on between Pattedar and Pride India Owner over monetary issue that led Pattedar to move High Court and sought demolition order.
“GHMC authorities rushed in the locality with large numbers of police to demolish our houses without any prior notice nor any intimation,’’ one of the worried property owners told media.
The move taken by GHMC officials deeply hurt the property owners and termed it bias one. Some under construction buildings have been damaged by the ghmc workers.
