The Holy-Month of Ramzan will begin in India on Friday, as the crescent was not sighted on Wednesday.
According to Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Deccan; Crescent was not sighted anywhere across the India and the first day of Ramzan will be on Friday, March 24.
The Crescent moon, which would have heralded the beginning of Ramzan was not seen, despite clear weather.
Muslims fast from dawn to dusk during the entire month, which is followed by the Eid-ul-Fitr. Fasting during Holy-month of Ramzaan is one of the five pillars of Islam and is mandatory for all healthy Muslims.
Hyderabad
All possible arrangements have been made for the devotees in Hyderabad. Mosques have decorated with colorful lights and new prayer rugs (Janimaaz) were laid in the historical Mecca Masjid in the old city of Hyderabad.
Large number of people from different places is expected to break their fasting and offer Taraweeh prayers in Mecca Masjid.
