A 6.8 earthquake has left at least 15 dead in Ecuador and Peru. Most of the earthquake victims occurred in the ElOro province of Ecuador in South America.
The Peru confirmed the death of a 4-year-old girl in the Tumbes region. Ecuadorian cities of Machala and Cuenca are among the most affected.
Besides, the death toll continues to rise Ecuador following an earthquake hit a coastal region of the country and Northerly Peru.
“At least 15 deaths have been reported due to an earthquake. Multiple houses, educational institutions and Health Centres were damaged,” Notified, the authorities.
Guillermo Lasso, President, Ecuador said that there was no reason to worry about the Tsunami.
“According to Oceanograhpic Institute, there is no reason to worry with regard to Tsunami. The tremor had an aftershock at 12:22 on a scale 4.8 and third tremor at 12:55 on a scale of 3.7. The injured were being treated in all the hospitals,” said, President, Ecuador
The death toll is likely to increase as the many injured people are in hospitals and receive medical aid.
