The raging wildfire in South-Central Chile (Chile is located in southern south America, bordering the south pacific ocean and a small part of the South Atlantic Ocean) has so far claimed at least 15 lives and rendered many homeless as well as the fire has destroyed 35,000 acres, as summer heat wave sweeps across the southern hemisphere country.
According to the authorities, residents including firefighter had died in the town of Santa Juana in BioBio. An Emergency-support helicopter in the southern region of La Araucania crashed in the fire causing pilot and a mechanic killed.
In view of continuous raging of the wildfire States of catastrophe have been declared in the farming and forest areas of Biobio.
Scores of houses have been damaged while the fire rages across the country.
