A 10-year-old boy accidentally fell into an open drain at Gazi-e-Millat colony, Chandrayangutta on Sunday. The matter came to light after the incident was captured in CCTV cameras and went viral on social media.
Locals complained that the apathy of the GHMC authorities has been a matter of concern for the residents as the drain work is on at a snail’s pace. The matter was reportedly brought to the notice of the official concern to expedite the work, but nothing has been done to respite people in the locality.
Mohammed Ahmed, TDP, GHMC, Minority vice-president took up the issue on Twitter and informed that open drain work in the area has been much inconvenience to the people.
“A boy fell into the pit, due to the ignorance of GHMC at Ghazi e Millat colony, Chandrayangutta. We are facing a lot of issues and we have been complaining again and again, but there no action taken to address the issue,’’ said, Mohammed Ahmed, TDP leader, sharing CCTV footage on Twitter.
It may be mentioned that the pathetic condition of the roads and lack of attention toward public issues are largely objected to by the residents in several parts of the old city of Hyderabad.
