NGO help elderly woman gone missing unite with family in Nizamabad

An elderly woman, who went missing from her home in a remote village in Nizamabad District, was reunited with her family members with the help of a non-government organization (Helping Hand Foundation), Hyderabad.

The woman was identified as Balamma, 75 years old widow, moderately mentally challenged from a remote village under Banswada in Nizamabad District, had gone missing and she was picked up by the Helping Hand Foundation Old Age Home team on August 8.  

“She was brought to old age home and treated her for pneumonia. She recovered and stayed with us comfortably for almost 4 months. Meanwhile, one of our volunteers, constantly quizzed her to know her whereabouts. After several efforts, the old lady could vaguely relate to a prominent temple near Baswada. Later, we moved to Baswada DCP, who found a missing complaint at a local Police Station. Thus, the family was contacted and called to Hyderabad to take the old lay back to her home,’’ clarified, Mujtaba Hasan Asari, President & Managing Trustee, Helping Hand Foundation.

Balamma bid an emotional farewell to HHF team and left the old age home in an elated mood along with her sons, who could hold their tears when they found their missing mother.
