Hyderabad: Waqf lands existing at several places in the old city of Hyderabad either encroached or are under encroachment. The complaints, however, are made to Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) to thwart illegal occupants or reclaim the properties, but allegedly nothing is seriously done to safeguard the Waqf lands.

One of the prime and expensive Waqf Land of the Dargah Hazrath Shah Quli Bahadur (RH), Graveyard and Ashoorkhana situated at Talagadda Karwan, Kulsumpura, V, Asifnagar Mandal Hyderabad is reportedly being trespassed and the land was covered by the installation of Green Net.

Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) has asked Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to stop the plantation work and remove the net from the graveyard and Ashoorkhana as it belongs to Waqf. Despite this, trespassing continued over the property and some land grabbers allegedly involved and trying to encroach it on the name of GHMC’s plantation.

“Waqf property known as Dargah Hazrath Shah Quli Bahadur (Rh), graveyard and Ashoorkhana is a registered and notified Waqf property published in A.P. Gazette No. 22 dt 18-06-2015 at page No. 204 covering to the extent of 26378.97 Square Yards and it was requested to incorporate it in Revenue Record as Dargah Hazrath Shah Quli Bahadur, Graveyard and Ashoorkhana at Kulsumpura Village, Asifnagar Mandal, Hyderabad District,’’ stated, TSWB in a letter to GHMC seeking immediately withdrawal from the Waqf Land.

Deccan Waqf Protection Society took strong exception against the illegal occupants over the land and demanded the Government of Telangana to take immediate note of the encroachment and come out with a decision to protect the property, which is worth in crores.

“The land belongs to Dargah Hazrath Shah Quli Bahadur (Rh), graveyard and Ashoorkhana is being encroached. Under the name of GHMC plantation the land was entirely covered with green net. Though a joint survey has been carried out by the officials concerned. I request Hyderabad MP and concerned MLA to look into this issue as some land grabbers try to grab the land on the GHMC work. I request the Government of Telangana to take immediate note of this matter and intervene,’’ said Deccan Waqf Protection Society President Osman Bin Mohammed Al Hajri.

TSWB said that a complaint has been lodged with Tappachabutra Police seeking action against land grabbers.
