Odisha Train Accident: Three killed and few others injured in a train mishap

At least three people were killed and several others injured, after an eight-wagons of a goods train derailed and crashed into the waiting hall at the Korei railway station in Jajpur of Odisha.
This incident happened, when an 8-wagons goods train derailed and crashed into a shed, where many passengers were waiting for the trains to board. Unfortunately, three passengers died and many others reportedly wounded in the mishap. The injured were shifted to the hospital for the treatment.
Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) ordered to investigate into the mishap, which claimed three lives. Also, many trains had been cancelled and diverted, due to the derailment of a goods train at Korei Station.
One of the passengers told Media that, “the doors of the wagons were opened and train jumped the platform. So, it may be factor behind the mishap, but the Railway Authorities do not appear to be serious towards locking the doors of wagons of the train. The Railway authorities are responsible for the people death,’’
Naveen Patnaik, Chief Minister, Odisha, announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia each to the next of kin of deceased. Also, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia each for the relatives of the deceased in Korei train mishap.
