Mangaluru: ‘Act of terror’ confirmed in a moving auto explosion

Karnataka Police on Sunday confirmed an act of terror behind the low-intensity explosion reported in a moving autorickshaw near Nagori in Mangaluru.

Two persons including auto driver sustained serious burn injuries in the blast. They were shifted to hospital and their condition said to be critical.  

Initially, it was thought to be normal fire incident and after finding some objects from the auto, it has been confirmed an ac of terror.

Praveen Sood, Director General of Police confirmed that the suspected low-intensity explosion reported in an autorickshaw was an act of terror.

“It’s confirmed now. The blast is not accidental but an ACT OF TERRO with intention to cause damage. Karnataka State Police is probing deep into it along with central agencies,’’ tweeted, Director General of Police, Karnataka.

Two persons including auto driver burn seriously soon after the blast in a moving autorickshaw near Nagori under Kankanady town police station limits on Saturday night.

Police found a pressure cooker and gas stove like object from the auto. The police registered a case and probe the matter.
