Turkey Blast: 6 Killed and many others wounded, death toll likely to increase

At least six people were killed and many others injured in an explosion ripped through a busy area of central Istanbul on Sunday.

According Turkish Media and Authorities the blast taken place around 16:20 local time on hustle-bustle street in the Taksim Square area.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan deplored the explosion in the busy market and said that the culprits would be punished and nobody would be spared involved in the blast.

Following the explosion, the entire area was cordoned off by the heavy presence of security personnel around Istiklal Street. The blast came as a shock to the shopkeepers and people in the buy street.

In the viral video shown a huge explosion is heard and people run to safer places in the area, soon after the blast.

According to the reports, the Istiklal Street is generally packed with shopper, which previously targated by a suicide bomber during 2016.
