Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Saturday made it clear that there is no such plan to privatize Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He alleged that the people were being misled in Telangana with fabricated episodes against Central Government to privatize the SCCL.
Addressing to a public gathering at Ramagundam, after laying foundation stone and dedicated to the Nation Multiple Projects worth over Rs 9500 crores. He further alleged that some forces create hurdles for their political gains and spreading false rumors, while the development works gained momentum across the country.
“Government of Telangana is a major stakeholder in Singareni by holding 51 percent equity and in such circumstances, Central Government can’t proceed to take any decision over the privatization of SCCL or its mines,’’ said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a public gathering.
He notified that the country and the workers, the poor and the areas, where the mines were located, suffered a heavy loss. He further informed that coal mines were being auctioned in a transparent way and keeping in view the increasing need for coal in the country.
