All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) here on Saturday requested Government of Telangana to sanction and release the honorarium of Imams and Mauzzin as well as Aasra pension amount.
Akbaruddin Owaisi, MLA, AIMIM, wrote letters to State Government and sought to take immediate note of the Imams and Mouzzins as well as Aasara Pensioners problems, due to unpaid.
“The honorarium of Imams and Mauzzins is due for the last five months. Though, the Government of Telangana has sanctioned budget and released funds during July, 2022 for the payment of honorarium and the Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) prepared cheques and uploaded for the clearance through Finance Department,’’ said, Akbaruddin Owaisi, adding that, “But the process is being delayed in clearance of cheques on behalf of Finance Department. Due to this, Imams and Mauzzins face a lot difficulties,’’ informed, Akbaruddin Owaisi in his letter to Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao.
State Government announced it in the T-Assembly during 2017, that the pay scales will be implemented for Archakas and other temple staff under Endowments Department on par with Government employees. Later, the AIMIM had raised the issue in T-Assembly to consider over Imams and Mauzzins payment as well, but nothing has been done in this regard by the Government of Telangana.
Mr. Akbaruddin Owaisi requested CM KCR to ask Finance Department to clear all the due of Imams and Mauzzins and consider over the increasing their honorarium.
Similarly, Akbaruddin Owaisi drew attention towards Aasara Pension Scheme stating that there were several issues with regard to sanction of new pensions.
“Pensions are not released on time and sometime it takes 2-3 months, causing much inconvenience to aged, widows and disabled persons. Also, there is a delay in issuance of Pension Cards for the 57-years-old or above the age group, despite finding eligible for the old age pensions,’’ stated, Akberuddin Owaisi in his second letter to CM KCR.
He, however, requested once again Chief Minister to ask officials concerned to release the Aasara Pension pending for the last two months and releasing New Identity Cards for the illegible pensioners.
