Hyderabad: B. Shafiullah, Secretary Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) in a press released stated that Minorities Day and National Education Day was celebrated in all the 204 TMR Schools and Jr. Colleges across the State to mark the 134th Birth Anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, First Education Minister of independent India with enthusiasm.
Literary competitions including as Essay Writing, Elocution and Debates, Dramas and Mono Acts, Athletic Events and Fun Games were organized in all 204 TMR Schools and Junior Colleges in the Telangana State by inviting Ministers, MLAs, District Level Officials and Dignitaries.
Prizes were also distributed among meritorious students during the celebration.
“The atmosphere and the ambience gleamed by the cheerful students, encouraging parents, committed teachers, motivating principals across the state. A State Level Programme was also organized at the Head Office of TMREIS. The programme started with the garlanding of the portrait of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad,’’ informed, B. Shafiullah, Secretary Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS).
Addressing the gathering A.K Khan, Advisor to Government of Telangana, Minorities Welfare & President TMREIS recollected the role of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad as first Union Education Minister and his vision.
“He himself was a religious scholar, but he called all the Head of Madrasas and convinced them to incorporate modern education in their curriculum,’’ Mr. Khan, remembered, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad efforts in Education field.
Shafiullah, Secretary TMREIS lauded the role of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad in establishing Universities Grants Commission, IITs etc. He recollected the quote of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad “to work with heart and dedication” and emphasized the gathering to work with heart in achieving the Vision and Mission of TMREIS.
