Telangana: Accused were taken into police custody

Cyberabad Police here on Thursday taken all the three accused into custody with regard to TRS MLAs poaching case.

It may be mentioned here that Nanda Kumar, Ramachandra Bharati, and Simhayaji Swamy have been arrested by the Cyberabad Police from a Moinabad farm house, for reportedly luring TRS MLAs to switch the loyalties in lieu of offer, position and protection in other party.

Afterward, the accused had been sent to Chanchalguda Prison by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court. TRS Party functionaries and cadres had expressed their anger by protesting against Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and burnt Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s effigy for its alleged involvement into the poaching case.

The BJP termed the allegations baseless levelled against it into the matter.

The Moinabad Police, however, had requested the court for their custody, which was granted to take all the accused into police custody for a couple of days for further investigation into the matter. They are likely to be questioned by the newly constituted SIT into the matter.

Mahender Reddy, Director General of Police had requested Government of Telangana to form a special investigation team to probe the matter into a sensitive case, which has created riddle in Telangana Political Circle.

The Government, however, accepted the proposal of the DGP and constituted a SIT headed by C.V. Anand, Hyderabad Police Commissioner along with other police officials to probe the matter.
