Nepal hit by 6.3 magnitude earthquake, 6 killed

At least six people were killed and five others wounded in a power earthquake shook the Nepla, China and India in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to National Seismological Centre, powerful tremors were felt at about 2:12 am with it’s epicenter at Khaptad National Park in the Doti District.

Phanindra Pokharel, Home Ministry spokesperson said that six people were found dead from the debris of house at Doti District and five others wounded shifted to Hospital.

Bhola Bhatta, Deputy Superintended of Police said that all the deceased were found dead in a house including an 8-year-old boy, a 13-year-old girl, two 14-years old girls, a 40-years old woman and a 50-year-old man.

“All of them were crushed dead in the debris of the house that collapsed due to the severe tremors of the earthquake,’’ informed, Bhola Bhatta, Deputy Superintendent of Police.

Kathmandu Post reported that the tremors were felt in Kathmandu and parts of India that caused lot of damage to the house in the district. The five others injured have been shifted to hospital for the treatment.

Strong tremors were also felt lasting several seconds in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and neighboring areas after a powerful earthquake stuck in Nepal.

The residents rushed out of their respective homes, when the tremors began to feel in the late night. Men, women, children and youths all of them were away from their buildings and flats till wee in the morning on Wednesday.

Scary videos were also shared by the people on the social networking sites. In which, fans, furniture, etc were seen trembling due to earthquake that led residents to rush out in no time.
