MLA poaching case: SIT formed to investigate the issue

State Government of Telangana on Wednesday has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by C.V. Anand, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, to probe the MLA poaching case.

The officials including Rema Rajeshwari, SP, Nalgonda, Kalmeshwar Shingenavar, DCP Crimes, R. Jagadishwar Reddy, DCP, Shamshabad, N. Venkateshwarlu, SP Narayanpet, B. Gangadhar, ACP Rajendranagar and Laxmi Reddy, Inspector Moinabad.

In view of case sensitivity and high profile one and sensational nature of the case, Director General of Police M. Mahendar Reddy wrote a letter to Telangana Government to constitute SIT to probe the matter.

“Since the case is sensitive, high profile and sensational nature and at involves probe in multiple dimensions, which requires thorough scientific and evidence-based investigation in an elaborate manner. It requires officers with experience and requisite expertise with specific skills sets to carry out investigation,’’ stated, DGP Telangana in letter to Government.

The Telangana government, however, issued order and said that after careful examination of the proposal of DGP, the State Government has constituted the SIT. It may be mentioned here that Cyberabad Police has raided at a farmhouse in Moinabad and arrested three persons on October, 26 after the TRS MLA informed the police about their offers to switch the loyalties in lieu of money, position.
