Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj said on Saturday that all the arrangements had been made for the counting of votes in Munugode Assembly Constituency byelection.
He said that strong room of EVMs would be opened in the presence of observer, contesting candidates and election Agents at 7:30 AM on Nov 6.
“A three-layered security has been provided at the counting of votes with the inner core area being manned by Central forces, while the outer two layers are fortified with the State Police,” Elaborating the process of counting of votes, the CEO Vikas Raj said that the counting of votes will be taken up on Sunday Nov,6 from 8:00 AM at Telangana State Warehousing Corporation Godowns, Arjalabavi, Nalgonda.
he further notified that 30 minutes after the commencement of postal ballot counting, the EVM counting shall be commenced.
Twenty one tables were arranged and counting will be completed in 15 rounds. In each round of counting, the observer will cross check the result of 2 randomly selected polling stations with the result sheet on the table.
“After completion of EVM counting, mandatory counting of 5 randomly selected VVPATs slips will be taken at VCB (VVPAT counting booth),”
He said the poll to 93-Munugode Assembly Constituency was conducted on Nov 3. A total of 2,25,192 votes were polled registering 93.13 % (Postal ballot not included) in 298 polling stations.
A separate hall with 150 seating capacity is arranged for both Print and Electronic Media. This hall has a provision for dissemination of the round wise result with mike-set and screen, the CEO said.
