The byelection for the Munugode Assembly constituency here on Thursday ended peacefully at 6 pm. The voter turned was recorded 77.55 percent by 5 pm and the voting percentage is expected to go up as the voters were seen in the long queue at 6 pm to let them allow to cast their respect votes.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj out of 2,41,805 total 1,87,527 voters turned out till 5 pm and more than 77 polling percentage was recorded in the Munugode Assembly constituency.
Apart from this, the voters had to wait in queues to sudden suspension of the technical problems in EVMS, where EVMs have ben replaced and the problems were rectified by the EVMs staff.
Tension prevailed as there was clash between TRS and BJP workers at polling booths in Chandur Municipality. The police had to use baton to disburse the party workers outside the polling station.
