Hyderabad, Oct 27 (Voiceup Media): As part of CSR activity India’s Eco-Friendly Miner and the country’s largest producer of iron ore, NMDC Limited, Hyderabad here on Thursday organized a plantation driver and adopted two Tigers (A Royal Bengal Tiger and a White Tiger) at Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.

Mr. Sumit Deb, Chairman and Managing Director, NMDC Limited, Hyderabad along with Mr. B. Shaoo, Executive Director (PC& S), NMDC Limited, Mr. Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Fin.), Mr. M. Jayapal Reddy, Executive Director (RP&Env) NMDC, Hyderabad planted tree saplings of Banyan and Fiscus.

The plantation and Tiger adoption was conducted in the presence of Chief Guest Mr Sumit Deb, CMD, NMDC Ltd, Hyderabad, and Guest of Honour Mr. S. Rajashekar, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad and senior members and officials of NMDC Limited, Hyderabad and Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.

Mr Sumit Deb, CNMD, NMDC Ltd, Hyderabad presented a cheque of two lakh rupees towards adoption of two tigers for a period of one year to Mr. S. Rajashekar, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.
He said that Hyderabad has always been a responsible miner and is committed to the protection of endangered flora and fauna.

“As miners to the Nation, NMDC holds significant accountability in safeguarding the interests of the people and making the planet sustainable. The magnificent Royal Bengal Tiger is our country’s national animal and the White Tiger is a rare species. It is imperative to note how important Biodiversity is in sustainability for the people and planet. As part of our efforts in preserving the planet through Swachhta 2.0, we hope to play our part in biodiversity conservation through the adoption of these two tigers,’’ said, Mr. Sumit Deb, Chairman and Managing Director, NMDC Limited, Hyderabad

Mr. S. Rajashekar, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad thanked to NMDC Ltd, Hyderabad for showing a great gesture towards taking the responsibility of Wildlife Conservation and Education Programme in Nehru Zoological Park.
