Congress MP would not campaign in the Munugode Assembly Constituency for his brother

Hyderabad: Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Monday said that he would not campaign in the Munugode Assembly constituency, where his brother Komitreddy Rajagopal Reddy is contesting the byelection as a BJP candidate.

“There is no need for a home guard like me there. Only SP-level leaders will go there,’’ the MP quipped when asked if he would campaign for the Congress party in the by-election. He did not name the leaer but he was apparently referring to the TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.

It may be mentioned here that the by-election in Munugode, Nalgonda District, will be held on November 3. The vacancy arose after Rajagopal Reddy resigned as MLA and also quit the Congress Party to join the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Following the resignation of Rajagopal Reddy, Revanth Reddy, president TPCC had criticized at him and also made remarks against his brother Venkat Reddy.

Later, Revanth Reddy had apologized to Venkat Reddy and the asked the Party disciplinary committee to take necessary actions against Dayakar for his remarks.
