Hyderabad: Mild tension prevailed over trespassing on a Mosque land at Malkam Cheruvu in Shaikpet on Sunday. A group of persons belonging to a particular community reportedly barged into the Qutub Shahi Masjid and performed some rituals claiming temple land.
On noticing it all the Muslims in the locality gathered at the Mosque land and registered their protest and sought immediate removal of the trespassers. Police, however, rushed to the spot and prevented a clash from occurring there.
Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman, MBT tweeted the matter seeking immediate intervention and action against troublemakers in the locality. “Dear KTR, Sir more than 100 anti-social elements barged into Qutub Shahi Masjid in Shaikpet area by breaking open its gate and constructed a temporary structure (Mandir) and performing Puja,’’ tweeted, Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesperson, MBT.
He said that the act of trespassing and claiming temple land, hurt the Muslim sentiments and wanted concerned authorities to take strict action against the elements irrespective of to which party or organization they belong and restore the sanctity of hundreds of years old Qutub Shahi Mosque.
Muslims alleged that there was no structure except mosque at the place and it was claimed that some land Mafia was attempting to grab the land by constructing a temple.
Kauser Mohiuddin, AMIMIM MLA from Karwan said that the matter was brought to the notice of Commissioner Police of Cyberabad and Collector Ranga Reddy for the immediate action on the incident. A meeting of all departments (Waqf, Revenue and Law and order) is schedule on Monday.
