Asif Nagar Traffic Police carries out special drive against obstructive parking and encroachments

Hyderabad: On the part of Operation Rope (Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments) Asif Nagar Police here on Friday, carried out a special drive against the obstructive parking and encroachments at Mehdipatnam area.

A meeting also held with Auto-Drivers regarding obstructive parking wherein they were explained about the traffic rules and regulations.

Karunakar, DCP, Traffic, Koteshwar Rao, ACP, Ram Prasad, Inspector, Asifnagar Traffic Police Station and other officials met Auto-Drivers and notified their parking points and asked them not to cause traffic jam at busy & merging points.

“We have undertaken a special drive against illegal parking and encroachments of the establishments or push carts. At Mehdipatnam Bus Bay around 3 thousand buses arrive and leave every day. The traffic movement, gets slowdown or comes to halt, when any Auto is parked or wait for the passenger in the way. It not only causes hurdle but also become in traffic jams. Serious actions are being taken against such violators and Auto drivers were notified certain places to park their vehicles without any hurdles in traffic flow,’’ said, Karunakar, DCP, Traffic Police Hyderabad.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand appealed to owners of shops, establishments across the city, who are occupying footpaths allow the flow of traffic or face actions. As per section 39 (b) of the City Police Act, will be fined between Rs 100-Rs 1000 on the obstructive item. As per section 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act, Rs 200 would be collected as towing charges for two wheelers along with a fine of Rs 100 and for four wheelers towing charges of Rs 600 will be collected with a fine of Rs 100.
